  3. Because of the relatively light armament 
  4. which the He 162 usually carried, two 
  5. 20mm MG 151 cannons, it was not really 
  6. the best aircraft with which to take on the 
  7. twelve .50 caliber machine guns of a B-17 
  8. Flying Fortress.  Even in large numbers, 
  9. the Volksjager probably would not have 
  10. posed as great a threat to bomber crews as 
  11. did the four 30mm cannons of the Me 262.

  13. One factor in favor of the He 162 was that 
  14. it was constructed largely of wood, an 
  15. airframe material known for its ability to 
  16. sustain heavy damage from machine gun 
  17. fire and still hang together.

  21. Follow your flight leader as he takes your 
  22. formation of six B-17Gs in to bomb an 
  23. aircraft factory in Brandenburg.  Two 
  24. escorting P-51Ds will provide top cover 
  25. support.  Intelligence reports indicate that 
  26. you may encounter the first of Goering's 
  27. "Volksjager Volkssturm", a determined 
  28. unit of young pilots formed to defend the 
  29. heart of the Third Reich.
